This section features stamps from the first half of the 20th century.  Philatelic highlights include the Edward VII definitive series, followed by the famous''Admiral'' series.  Six different definitive issues marked the long reign of George V.  The iconic ''Bluenose'', often described as Canada's most beautiful stamp, was issued in 1929.  George VI succeeded his father and ruled during the desperate days of WWII.  The Canadian government felt the need to stress sacrifice and hard work on the home front with the ''War Issue'' of 1942-43.  Optimism and a general longing for peace and prosperity marked the postwar years and was expressed in the ''Peace Issue'' of 1946.
