Swedish stamps from this period explore many appealing themes: nature, cultural heritage, sports, etc., all directly related to the Swedish way of life. Sweden Post continued to produced stamps using the steel engraving process, much appreciated by collectors. The master engraver Czeslaw Slania (1921-2005) was hugely productive in this area and produced over 1000 magnificent engravings for Sweden, Denmark and other European post offices during his career. His name appears in the bottom right corner on most of his engraved stamps. Collecting Slania engraved stamps is an interesting and popular sideline.
