Greenland Stamps: Regular Issues 1938 to the Present Day


The first stamps from the Danish Colony of Greenland were issued in 1938 and feature a striking portrait of King Christian X.  The three high values show polar bears.  The famous ''American'' Issue of 1945 followed.  Greenland achieved self rule and their stamps continued on to highlight the unique culture and document the development of Greenlandic society to the present day.
